Dr Colin Edwards

Colin Edwards qualified in 1988 from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. He trained as a physician in Johannesburg and his cardiology training was in both Johannesburg and Auckland (Green Lane Hospital). He also trained in cardiac MRI at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, England.

Colin is a general and imaging cardiologist. He is a consultant for the WDHB and has his private practice at the The Heart Group. He has a special interest in tomographical imaging of the heart with cardiac CT and cardiac MRI. He also performs invasive coronary angiography.

Colin is a general cardiologist and his work covers most aspects of cardiology including the investigation and management of coronary artery disease, the assessment, and management of cardiovascular risk factors such as hyperlipidemia and hypertension. 

He is also involved in the management of patients with heart failure and valvular heart disease.

Colin is also actively involved in teaching registrars, medical students, and nurses at North Shore Hospital. He also enjoys participating in GP education events in Auckland.
