Dr Miriam Wheeler

Miriam Wheeler completed medical training through the University of Otago before undergoing physician and cardiology training in Melbourne at The Alfred Hospital and Royal Melbourne Hospital. She then completed a fellowship in echocardiography and cardiac obstetrics at St Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada.

In 2011 Miriam elected to work at Emergency’s Salam Centre for Cardiac Surgery in Sudan, where there were high rates of complex rheumatic heart disease.

Since 2014, Miriam has enjoyed working as a cardiologist at Te Toka Tumai, Auckland Hospital, where she works full time.
