Dr Michael Stubbs

Dr Michael Stubbs had the pleasure of completing his cardiology training through the Auckland program, achieving his Fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians in 2018. After his cardiology training, he deepened his understanding of heart failure and heart transplantation with his first clinical fellowship in Auckland. He then completed a multi-modality cardiac imaging fellowship at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, focusing on echocardiography, cardiac MRI, and cardiac CT, before heading to the Toronto General Hospital in Ontario, Canada, as a fellow in advanced heart failure.

Dr Stubbs works full-time as a general, imaging, and advanced heart failure/transplant cardiologist at Auckland City Hospital. Additionally, he has held teaching roles throughout his medical career with the University of Auckland and is the current clinical lead for the cardiac MRI service at Auckland City Hospital.

He has a keen interest in all aspects of general cardiology, is skilled in the use of advanced cardiac imaging for the diagnosis and management of cardiac conditions, and has a real sub-specialty passion for improving the lives of patients with all stages of heart failure.
